Services

Process serving, courier and notary work across the Gulf Coast

Three related services, all of them about getting documents where they need to be and being able to say what happened. Here is what each one covers and when it is the right fit.

A set of legal documents organised for collection.

In detail

What each service actually involves

No two of these jobs are booked the same way, so they are not described the same way either.

01 — Process Serving

Process Serving

Legal documents have to reach the right person, and the delivery has to be documented properly. L & J handles that step for law firms, businesses and individuals across the Mississippi Gulf Coast — taking the documents you provide, working the address you supply, and keeping you informed throughout.

What is involved

  • Collection or receipt of the documents to be served
  • Attempts at the address you supply
  • Updates on what happened at each attempt
  • The return paperwork agreed with you before work starts

02 — Courier

Document Courier

Some paperwork should not sit in a mailbox. L & J collects documents and delivers them by hand to the recipient or office you nominate — a direct alternative to standard postal delivery when timing, confidentiality or chain of custody matter to you.

What is involved

  • Collection from your office, home or another agreed point
  • Direct hand delivery to the person or office you name
  • Documents kept together and kept private in transit
  • Confirmation back to you once the delivery is made

03 — Notary

Mobile Notary

Getting everyone into a notary's office at the same time is often the hardest part of a signing. L & J brings the notary to you instead — at home, at work, at a care facility or anywhere else the signing can take place appropriately and privately.

What is involved

  • Travel to the signing location you choose
  • Identity checked for each signer present
  • Signatures witnessed and the notarial wording completed
  • A time arranged around the people who have to sign

Not sure which?

Start from the situation, not the service name

People rarely ring up asking for a specific service. They describe a problem. These are the ones that come up most often.

All three services run across the same area

L & J serves Harrison, Hancock, Jackson, Stone, Pearl River, George, Forrest, Lamar, Perry, Marion and Jones counties, subject to availability.

Tell L & J what you have

Documents in hand, an address, a deadline — that is usually enough to get started. Anything missing gets sorted out on the call.
