Document courier
Documents that travel with a person, not a postal system
Need documents delivered directly rather than relying on standard mail? L & J collects them, carries them, and tells you when and to whom they were handed over.

When it is the right call
Four situations where handing it over beats posting it
Standard mail is fine for most things. These are the jobs where it is not, and where knowing exactly what happened to a document is worth more than a stamp.
- Originals that cannot be replaced
- Wet-ink signatures, executed agreements, closing packets and anything where a scan will not do. Once it is in the post it is out of your hands; a courier keeps it in somebody's.
- Paperwork with a date on it
- Documents tied to a filing window, a closing or a meeting, where knowing the exact moment it arrived matters more than a tracking estimate.
- Confidential material
- Files you would rather were not sitting in a shared mailbox or a reception tray overnight, handed directly to the person who should receive them.
- Awkward handovers
- A recipient who is hard to catch, a location with restricted access, or a delivery that needs someone who will wait and do it properly.

How it works
Four steps, no guesswork
Tell L & J what is moving
What the documents are, where they are being collected from, and where they need to go. If it is time-sensitive, say so at this point rather than later.Collection is arranged
A collection point and time are agreed with you. Documents are checked against what you described so nothing is missing before the journey starts.Direct delivery
The documents travel with one person and are handed to the recipient or office you named. They are not consolidated with other work or left in a vehicle overnight.Confirmation back to you
You are told the delivery was made, to whom, and when. If the recipient is not available, you hear about that instead of finding out later.
An important distinction
Courier delivery is not legal service
This trips people up often enough to be worth spelling out. The two jobs look similar from the outside and are not interchangeable.
Document courier
- A direct, hand-carried delivery
- Chosen because the post is not suitable
- Confirmation that the documents arrived
- Arranged around your timing
Process serving
- Delivery of legal documents to a named person
- Chosen when a case requires formal service
- Attempts recorded and accounted for
- Return paperwork agreed before work starts
Questions
Courier service, answered
Is a courier delivery the same as having documents served?
No, and the difference matters. A courier delivery gets documents into someone's hands. Formal service of process is a separate thing with its own requirements. If your paperwork has to be served to satisfy a court, say so and the job is handled as process serving instead.
How quickly can documents be delivered?
That depends on where the collection and delivery points are and what else is booked that day. No standard delivery window is published, because publishing one that cannot be met for every job would be worse than useless. Call with the details and you will get a realistic answer for your job.
Can you collect from one place and deliver to another the same trip?
Yes, that is the usual shape of a courier job — a collection point and a delivery point. Give both when you get in touch so the route and timing can be worked out properly.
What happens if nobody is there to receive the documents?
You are contacted before anything is left or returned. What happens next is your call — waiting, returning later, or bringing the documents back. Nothing gets left somewhere unsuitable just to close the job out.
Do you cover deliveries outside the Gulfport area?
Courier work runs across the same area as everything else: Harrison, Hancock, Jackson, Stone, Pearl River, George, Forrest, Lamar, Perry, Marion and Jones counties, subject to availability. Ask about a specific route and you will get a straight answer.
Something that needs to get there today?
Tell L & J where it is coming from and where it has to go. You will hear quickly whether the route and the timing work.
